This is a great brass binnacle from the US Navy Bureau of Ships from about 1940. It has it's origina burner on the side.The compass is made by Lietz out of San Francisco. At first I thought the compass was not original to the binnacle, but further research finds that the US Navy often comission the brass binnacles and compasses from different sources and assembled them in house. It has it's original hanging bracket (not shown)
Size: Base is 7 1/2" deep by 6 3/4" wide and 10" hight to the top of the handle mounts. It is 9" wide with the side burner.
